I can assess your child's learning needs, build a profile that will help the school see how best to meet their needs, and work with you and the school to design a learning environment that will benefit everyone. That's what UDL is all about. Contact me to set up a private consultation!

"Thank you for giving me strategies and ideas that will make my job easier and enhance the school lives of my students. I find I enjoy teaching more than ever before in my career – previously I had been looking for a way out."

Navigating the school system can be challenging for any parent, let alone the parent of a child with exceptionalities. I have seen through the eyes of both teacher and parent. It is complex, and sometimes exhausting - but every child deserves to go to school and feel good about who they are, connected to their peers and teachers, and be challenged to learn and grow.
Teachers want the best for their students. I don't know a teacher who if they could, wouldn't want to meet the needs of their students. Sometimes the demands put on teachers feel like they are competing - and teachers are human too. They have children at home, aging parents, health challenges...all the same things everyone does. As a result, there are times when teachers feel too much is being asked of them, with too few resources.
Working together, I can bring families and educators to the table, and help problem solve ways to support BOTH teachers and students. Burning out teachers doesn't help kids, and failing kids is not an option. They are our future. All of them.
"Hi Jennifer:
I was in your session on Friday with ___ school division. Just dropping you a line to thank you for inspiring us; I really enjoyed the day. Thank you for sending the message about our own growth, best practice and for being so direct with the approach.
I come from a family with disability and I watched my parents fight the school system most of my school years to have my younger brother in the classroom. I brought your handout home to my parents this weekend and said "You'll never guess what's happening!" The research is stunning.
I am just thrilled about the direction of our division and the paradigm shift that is about to happen. It is long overdue. Thanks for doing the work you do."
